All were waiting for their bridegroom to return unexpectedly and take them to a prepared place . . .

but those the Lord deemed “wise” though ready to depart . . . were also prepared to endure.

GATEKEEPER, SOJOURNER, AND SWORDSMAN

who by their everyday obedience to Christ, play active roles in the fulfillment of God’s will for human history . . .  

who endure times of great pressure and crisis to produce eternal fruit . . .

who—like us all—are unable to know the total significance of their faithful, persistent, obedience.
