About SWORDSMAN

This book completes the Fellowship of the MysteryTM trilogy.

Originally penned nearly 30 years ago and first printed in 1987, the Christian fiction novel SWORDSMAN spoke of a future time when . . .

  • the flow of oil has been choked to a trickle . . . but a new energy source using fiberoptic technology can power the world.
  • embedded microchips make it possible for each person to function in a cashless economy (while being tracked anywhere on the planet).
  • an entire generation has been prepared to think of global solutions, to be open to new spiritual experiences, to reject the mono-theism of the past, and to expect eventual contact with extraterrestrial beings.
  • people have survived war and horrific acts of terrorism.
  • the need for peace and safety have become so paramount that virtually any loss of freedom will be endured to achieve them.
  • people can celebrate any cultural belief or personal preference--as long as those views can be incorporated into a larger belief system.
  • each person has a right to life--as long as he or she is a productive, cooperative citizen.

While expanded with new characters, this edition of SWORDSMAN remains true to the original storyline.

Regardless of your thoughts on the "last days," "end times," or "the Rapture," SWORDSMAN will challenge you to consider the focus of your hope, and to ask yourself if you have faith that will endure. This book isn't about when Christians leave . . . it's about how they live.

Characters of SWORDSMAN

Michael Gordon is struggling to forget his losses go on with life. The world is starting to move beyond survival mode, but he is not. He is hiding in the security of a bad relationship and escaping from reality through an addiction to a small device known as a "black box."

Linda Posner, is a vain, self-centered beauty who manipulates men and is willing to do whatever is necessary to survive in style.

Zachary, Michael's witty, older brother is in full party mode until his happy facade is shattered by a tragedy.

Alex Dubois is a "company man" who follows orders and continually rationalizes the consequences of his actions.

Edwina Grant has lost all that she owns and works as a housekeeper rather than take an identifying "code." Her sorrows fade as she cares for a mentally challenged little girl.

Young Leon Newsome has been raised in the finest schools, is in peak condition, and is about to be accepted into the Universal Legion--an elite multinational military group. The Legion is a symbol of what the world can achieve, and its officers are both feared and admired.

Sara Reisling is a strong-willed young woman who lives near Dallas. She, her sister, and her father have turned the ground floor of their home into a small grocery store that provides not only for them, but for many in their deteriorating neighborhood.

Tony Bensen is a psychic assigned to trail the man known as Swordsman and thwart his purposes.

The Ruiz family and many others are establishing places of refuge in the "zones." Trusting God for protection and provision, they help many of those who are still wandering in the now-vast wilderness of northern America.

E. E. Kressman is the C.E.O. of the largest multi-national conglomerate on Earth. Using his genius, wealth, and power to help rebuild devastated nations, he is a respected world figure.

Swordsman is a man who has come alive to truth, and is daring to speak it--no matter what the cost.

Back Cover Text of SWORDSMAN

Yet another war in the Middle East has destroyed much of the world's oil supply. This, coupled with disease and contamination, has brought the world to the rim of extinction. In America, international troops have forced the remaining population away from the cold and contamination in the north and into a teeming urban environment in the south. World leaders are forced to conclude that there are several keys to humanity's survival. They must:

  • eliminate competing monetary systems and move to a cashless society where no one's identity can be forged or stolen. A microchip embedded beneath the skin becomes the official solution.
  • slow the depletion of revenue and manpower used in caring for an aging populace. A medical procedure insures the elderly are "useful" in performing menial tasks.
  • limit the general population's communication, food, and transportation in order to conserve precious resources.
  • prevent travel into the uncontrolled northern regions of North America (and other "zero population zones" established around the world).
  • be certain both the government's message and it's surveillance are everywhere

Central to the success of this plan is the need to level the ground of all "exclusive" ideologies and religions.

Are all faiths one, or is there only one faith? Does the enforcement of this plan bring peace and safety, or does it create a growing, world-wide thirst for an ultimate savior? As millions weigh their rapidly evaporating choices, a man known as Swordsman dares to publicly declare truth.

Regardless of your thoughts on the "end times," SWORDSMAN will challenge you to consider the focus of your hope, and ask yourself if you have faith that endures. This book isn't about when Christians leave . . . it's about how they live.
